James Christopher Hill
Artist | Professional | Traditional Art
United States
Hello, My name is James Christopher Hill. I am a professional artist that lives in Charleston, South Carolina. I've been sketching and painting my whole life and it's only been recently that I've been revisiting my childhood passion of creating Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror scenes. I'm formally trained with a Bachelorette in Fine Art from the Ringling School of Art and Design but my greatest inspiration and training has come from admiring and studying great artists throughout the ages. Some of my major inspirations are of course the classic artists such as DaVinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Rodin, Vermeer, Rembrandt, Goya...the list goes on and on... New masters that really inspire me are Syd Mead, Ryan Church, Frank Frazetta, Jeffrey Jones, Alan Lee, Doug Chiang, Joe Johnston, Ralph McQuarrie, Roger Dean and yes, the list is just as long....
I hope to one day, with LOTS of practice, to be as good as one of those artists!
I love history, philosophy, theology, mythology, archeology, anthropology, astronomy and architectural studies as well and they all inspire my work and the way I approach painting. Music, literature and poetry definitely play a major roll in my creation of works.
I hope you like my works or that my works inspire you.

Oh, and I do smile, really.... Such a "serious photograph". :)
